1. Think of something you are ashamed of, something that is causing you grief, or something you'd like to forget. You can illustrate it, write about it, make some sort of representation only you can understand, or make a list of several things. Then fold the page in half (or if you did a spread, just shut the pages) and staple it shut. Now write or illustrate your thoughts about the Savior—place a picture of the Savior if you have one—on the closed pages. Let him be the one to help you close this door, and forget this shame or trial forever.
Example: This page is stapled shut with painting of something forever shut out on the inside. This picture of Christ was taken from a magazine and pasted on top of the painted page.
2. Draw or tape several doors onto a page. What doors are open to you right now, which are closed and why? Are you happy with the outcome? How can you open the doors that are closed?
3. Draw ONE big door on your page. This could be the door to your heart, it could be the door to opportunity, it could be the door to hope. What is behind your door? What must you do to open the door?
Example: This door was drawn to illustrate the journaler's opportunity to open the door to become closer to Christ.
